They impersonate your mortgage and threaten to "red flag" your home which will decrease it's value and put at you risk, made liable, for any incidents related to your homes electrical or plumbing systems. As my home has several issues I was further inclined to believe I needed coverage. They would not let me return the call. Which sounded fishy and I made several statements to feeling pressured and how I felt it was a scam and the "representative" assured me the offer and services were 100% legitimate. They assured me I would get a refund if I chose not to utilize the service within 30 days. I foolishly thought this was enough to guarantee a refund. I called my CC company and canceled the card immediately after. However, I could not dispute the charge as of yet as it was still pending, which doesn't make a bit of sense either. One would think pending would be the ideal state in which to cancel a transaction. The letter I received appears completely legitimate, with exception to the very small words at the bottom of the letter stating they are not affiliated with Rocket Mortgage LLC, which is probably enough to protect them from being sued by them. However, I would think the repeated statements above that insinuate they are acting on behalf of Rocket Mortgage LLC would be enough to prove otherwise and they are in fact impersonating.
