This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I received letters a few weeks apart claiming that I am required to send $135 to this pseudo company in order to pay my $50/yr LLC state registration fee. The letter attempts to look official with "Final Notice" language, Code of Virginia notation, a QR code, black and white credit card symbols, and other alarming language. Since my attorney handles my LLC fees, I knew these poorly copied letters (looks like the front page was running low on ink) were a scam solicitation. I shredded the first one but when I got the second one, it made me mad. Do NOT respond to this scam. Shame on them!
