Description

On November 3, 2025, I received an unsolicited email offering a remote job position with a company identified as “Strive Consulting.” The email appeared to come from a person named Grace Clayton using the email address [email protected]. I was interviewed via Microsoft Teams by someone identifying herself as Dr. Grace Clayton, who claimed to represent Strive Consulting. The interview lasted over two hours. Following the interview, she sent hiring documents for me to complete, requesting personal information as part of the onboarding process. After I completed the paperwork, “Dr. Clayton” informed me that their finance department would be in contact regarding equipment funds. Shortly afterward, I received an email from [email protected] containing a check in the amount of $4,850.12, which was allegedly intended to purchase remote work equipment. The same individual then messaged me again on Microsoft Teams, asking how long it would take for me to deposit the check. At that point, I realized that this was likely a fraudulent job scam designed to obtain personal and banking information and/or to commit check fraud.
