Description

I was trying to apply for an Australian travel visa and found visitaustrailiavisas.com online. It appeared to be a third-party site to help U.S. or EU residents navigate the Australian visa process. When going through the paperwork it had very strict photo requirements and passport photo requirements which made it seem more legitimate. It also had a lengthy narrative acknowledging that it was a third-party system and provided a link to the Australian government page (which I see now is a broken link). I submitted two applications, one for myself, and one for my fiancé- his was approved and mine was denied due to not meeting the photo requirements. After the denial, they emailed me asking for another passport photo which I thought was odd- that is when I researched and discovered that the website is likely a scam. My fiancé received a confirmation email for his visa, but never received an actual visa. I feel like I'm constantly on the lookout for these scams and I feel completely bamboozled.
