Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Went to website because it appeared at the top of the search page in Google. Clicked on IVS by GovAssist, I did read that they are a third party entity and that their service is to help with passport renewal. I went through the motion of filling out my Name, Address, SSN, email, etc. While I was in the middle of it, I started to check out the website, to see if it had https indicating that it is a secured site. I also started to doubt that the website was legit and that it was there to steal my information outright even without me paying their fees. Although I did not hit submit, there is a feeling that my info is already in the hands of potentially unscrupulous individuals. There is no way now of knowing whether my info is already being exploited other than starting to get people opening up credit cards under my name.
