This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Saw an ad on YouTube but did not click on the link. Went directly to the website of the named company. Ordered 2 pairs of pants on sale. Paid used PayPal. It took almost 3 weeks for the goods to arrive and they were not like those shown in the ad or the website. They must have used AI to create a fake founder's story on their website showing 3 happy white women with the product. All images were of white Americans. Product arrived from China. Used email address on website to request an exchange - no response from 3 emails sent. Contacted PayPal to dispute charges. When PayPal contacted them they finally sent me an email to which I responded with photos and complaint, request for return label. No response. One more email from them asking for the same information. Sent but again no response. Have escalated PayPal case to get money refunded.
