Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Received an email that appeared to be from PayPal titled "Recurring Payment Reactivated". Gmail shows their blue checkmark for verified emails on the address the email came from; [email protected]. Product/Service shows a iPhone 17 Pro Max 5121 GB. Emails states that a transaction of 1499.00 USD was detected. If this wasn't you, pleases call (805) 500-6825 to stop payment. Further down in the email it says Recurring Payment Details - Total Cycles: Until Cancellation, Amount Per Cycle 1499.00 Japanese Yen. I did a search on the phone number and found other BBB complaints similar. That, combined with the fact that in one spot of the email it showing 1499.00 USD and in another part of the email showing 1499.00 Japanese Yen convinced me that this was a Phishing email.
