Description

I've been applying for jobs on Indeed and came across staffing opportunities I thought would be for live concert and sports events. The company was called Royalty Staffing and they were hiring immediately with a flexible schedule. I submitted my application and resume and later received a text message from 930-600-1250, someone named Jasmine saying: "We really liked your application and would love to schedule a Zoom interview with you to join the Royalty Staffing team. We work with top venues across Los Angeles, including universities, horse races, hotels, catering companies, and sports/entertainment venues. Our flexible schedules let you work as much or as little as you'd like. Would you be available for a Zoom interview next week? We have the following time slots available: - Tuesday at 1PM - Wednesday at 11:00 AM Looking forward to speaking with you! Best, Jasmine Royalty Staffing" Thinking it was legit, I joined the interview the next day. I thought it was a one on one Zoom interview but soon realized that 15 other people were on the call. A blonde woman was on the screen trying to get things in order and told us we would watch a short video about what they were all about. The video wasn't working she asked us to take turns telling us about our experience in hospitality and if we were available to work at SoFi Stadium for a game on Thursday (2 days later). I thought it was pretty unprofessional, the way she was dressed and how things were going, but I went with it anyway. Everyone took their turn, then she wrapped it up with a video about the next steps and a lot of information that you normally don't learn about during an interview. After we finished I received a text 2 hours later saying I was hired and needed to fill out some paperwork and start registration. This text was from 760-658-2057, a woman named Amber, saying: "This is Amber from Royalty staffing it looks like we have sent you the informational page from Stefanie‘s email, please return with the information to be able to send you the on boarding paperwork. Could you please let me know ASAP if you are still interested in employment with us." I ended up completing a short form with my personal information (name, address, number, ssn, etc.) but held off on clicking the registration link they sent. The email the onboarding information came from was [email protected] . They gave instructions in English and Spanish saying that the registration would take about 25 minutes and would ask for personal information. I refrained from clicking any links or starting any type of registration. I realized that this is most likely a scam and want to warn others to be careful with this company and other scammers.
