Description
I saw an ad on social media, that looked very legitimate. I'm not one to fall for scams, but since this ad, social media page and website looked and seemed 100% legit, I ordered. The website claims it's a widowed wife and wanting to close her store and sell the remaining stock on hand. It also claims her and her husband hand crafted these lamps. I wanted to help a small business and the lamps would make great Christmas gifts. It was when I received the initial tracking information that made a red flag wave high. It showed it was coming from China (website states they are located in Bleecker Street, New York.) I emailed said "company" questioning the authenticity. They claimed they had jewelry they sold overseas and that's why it appears the packages are coming from China. Over the next few days I did some research. I learned that there were so many others that had the same complaints and findings. This is a scam/fraud. An unknown entity posing as a married couple selling the last remaining on hand stock of lamps they made with their own hands. I immediately emailed this company and requested a complete and total refund and to cancel my order. They advised they couldn't since it was already in transit, but upon receiving the packages that I could email them back and they would advise me on how to return said packages. During the transit, I was able to track the location of packages. It once showed it made it to Georgia (I'm in TN) from China, once the packages got here the shipping label was from a persons name (not Helen-Lamps) in California. I received the packages 2 weeks later (although website states they ship within 48 hours of ordering), the lamps are plastic and painted. They don't even look like the photos on their website. Some were battery operated and some were USB operated. I immediately emailed them back to let them know I had done research and found that they are running a scam/fraudulent business and I have been in contact with my bank. I asked for them to send me a prepaid return shipping label and to refund my money. I also advised them that I have documented everything and I would be opening a dispute with my bank for fraud and advised them to cut their losses and refund my money asap. They replied back the next day apologizing and told me to keep the lamps and they had already issued a complete refund. I received my money back, thankfully. Lesson learned!! Please do not order or purchase from this company.
