This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
Erica Collins says there are issues with my tax returns and to call 777-222-7458. They say they can mediate possible penalties. My tax returns are straight forward and done by a former professional tax preparer using government tax preparation software. I figure this is the latest in several scams I've had hitting my number lately. The IRS would notify me in letter format if there were a tax issue. Otherwise, how is this person accessing my tax returns?
