This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I want to share my experience to help others avoid falling victim to this scam. I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from DirecTV, saying that my current TV boxes are outdated and will soon be shut down. They insisted that I needed to get new TV boxes to continue my service. They assured me that they would send me the latest TV boxes and, in the process, charged my credit card $249.99. The scammers used the phone number 347-407-7522 and claimed the charge was from "Stream Services LLC." They also advised me to send a check to the following address: P.O. Box 24043, Westside Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07304. The caller sounded very convincing and professional, which made it difficult to spot the scam at first. I contacted DirecTV multiple times (about 10 times) to report this incident, but unfortunately, they did not take any action, and the scammer's phone number is still active. Please be vigilant and do not share your personal or financial information with unknown callers claiming to be from your service provider.
