The call was at 4:30 PM on Friday, October 17. I got a call asking if I would be home because I was being served papers. I was very frustrated and confused because they did not disclose what this was regarding and they said that since they were just a server that they could not Reveal any further information, I asked for the phone number of the next person that I needed to speak to, and they put me in touch with Golden State law firm when I called a very well speaking young man let me know that I had been mailed numerous letters to settle a debt from 2016 from a company called VIP loans verified my address in Chicago and verified my social. Although I did not give him my social that information was already obtained. He stated that he would email over a form with a link to make the payment on and that I would only have two hours to send over the payment or I would need to appear in court to respond to the summon. He later let me know that if I did it within the two hours, it would only be the 2850and if I didn’t, I would have to cover court fees that would bring it up to over $8000. All of this seemed legit until he sent over the email with a wonky watermark
