I was emailed by a guy named Joseph Norris, pretending to be a senior staffing manager. The email seemed legit and explained that I would need to complete a PSC certification before the hiring process and interview process could begin. The certification itself includes legitimate information about pharmaceuticals and pharmacology, so it seemed legit. The several week certification course cost $325 and was from healthcare rep academy. When doing more investigation into the company website I realize that no job applications were posted anymore on the website and instead only a spot to upload a résumé for consideration. On the website, the name, paragon health, paragon laboratories, and paragon biotech are all used interchangeably, which is what led me to believe that this could be a scam. The certification was called a PSC certification or pharmaceutical sales certification through the website healthcare rep Academy.
