Description
I was contacted by a person claiming to be part of the legal team for an organization called Clear Point Group. The caller said they were representing timeshare owners who pay yearly maintenance dues while their timeshare companies allegedly rent the units to non-owners through Booking.com or Airbnb.com and keep the profits. The caller stated that, as a timeshare owner, I could be eligible to have my maintenance fees reimbursed. She asked for my email address, whether I currently have a mortgage, and invited my husband and me to attend a presentation on October 15th at 6:45 PM at the Comfort Suites, 9824 W Camelback Rd. She instructed us to bring our ownership information or a copy of our maintenance fee bill. When I searched for “Clear Point Group,” I could not find any verified law firm, attorney, or accredited business by that name through the Arizona State Bar, Better Business Bureau, or official business registries. The fact that the meeting is being held at a hotel, rather than a law office or courthouse, raises further concern that this may be a fraudulent or deceptive solicitation targeting timeshare owners.
