Vacation Offer contacted me after I attended a bridal show and informed me that I had won a drawing for a vacation package. When they originally contacted me, they were called JMG vacations. We ended up buying one of their travel packages. As part of the deal, we had to book a stay in one of their specific locations in Florida, which we weren’t able to do until 6 months before we wanted to stay, and when we called to book their free stays we’re unavailable and we had to pay an extra fee to stay at a holiday inn. We paid the extra fee booked our stay for October 6-10 2025. When we arrived to the holiday inn resort, the front desk informed us that our stay had been cancelled, which we did not do, and were not notified of. The Holiday Inn Resort manager told us that we actually had 2 reservations at one point. 1 was made April 22nd, which was the original date that we called Vacation Offer to make our reservation. This reservation was cancelled by Expedia on September 1st 2025. We did not at any point contact Expedia. We do not know when the second reservation was made, but it was cancelled October 1st 2025, less than 1 week before we were supposed to arrive to the resort. The hotel did not contact us, because we didn’t make the reservation, the third party made it. Vacation Offer did not tell us that the reservation was cancelled. In fact, they sent us a reminder email that very morning of October 6th, with the address of our accommodations, and a reminder of the tour we were supposed to go on October 7th. We attempted to contact Vacation Offer’s customer service department, but they are located in Utah, on mountain time, and we were in Florida on eastern time, so they would not be open until 11am eastern time the next day, because we arrived at our hotel at 8pm eastern time. So we paid for our accommodations for the night, because we were 20 hours away from home. The next day, we were supposed to go to a tour/meeting with Vacation Offer, so we went to see if we could speak with anyone in person. Of course, the tour people only handle the tour, and could not, or would not help us. So we went back to our hotel, and paid for the rest of our week long stay, because we had already paid for activities throughout the week and had saved for a year for this trip. Then we contacted Vacation Offer customer service at 11am. We told them about what happened, and what we did about it. They wanted us to CANCEL the reservation we made for the rest of the week, so they could take care of it and then they would reimburse us for the night we already paid for. We told them that we were not interested in that, but we did want to know why our reservation was cancelled, and why we weren’t told. The customer service department told us that they could not answer that, that we would have to ask booking, and that booking would not be in for 2 more hours. At this point, we had spent 4 hours of our vacation trying to figure this out, and we decided we weren’t going to let this scam interfere with our trip that we had waited so long for. I worked two jobs in the last year to help us save for it. So, we disputed the charges with our chase card, and moved on with our week. The Holiday Inn staff was wonderful and we had a great time. No thanks to Vacation Offer, who we have not heard from since disputing with our card. We have yet to receive a refund.
