When i applied for this job, it was under the impression that I would be working for a "Marketing" company. During the interview process the "CEO" of the company Matthew Goodchild walked me through the pay/commission rates. He told me it was a Salary based job plus commission. He used fast speaking tactics during the final interview and didn't touch on the fact that the job is 100% commission, and you only get your base pay if your commission for the week didn't exceed your base of $500. Also, he did not express that the only way you will collect your base is if you meet your weekly "goals". The goals in question were framed as "targets to aim for" but you didn't have to achieve in order to actually get paid your "weekly compensation". I worked for 3 weeks here, and for my first week I hit my targets and got my weekly salary. For my second week, because my sale got cancelled, I was told that i didn't "qualify" for my salary. Upon looking over the contract that I wasn't sent until after I signed it in Matthew's office, in very small print, I learned that the weekly salary was ONLY made available if you hit your SUGGESTED goals for said week. Further I have done much digging on Matthew Goodchild and have come to find out that he has an extensive history of fraudulent activity. He is a part of companies such as Credico, Smart Circle, and numerous other Multi-Level Marketing/Pyramid Schemes. He claims to have over 40 offices between the US and UK, but upon further investigation, all of these offices are under different names running different scams. The working conditions in this office, as well as many others that I have looked into are horrible. No chairs in the office, Daily ritual like chants to "get the energy flowing", 12+ hour days (while also being encouraged to take not take breaks), fraudulent activities (and management ENCOURAGING these activities to go on), Commuting to and from locations with no company compensation, no overtime pay (I suspect they can get away with this as writing their "employees" as commission only or contractors of some type. The issue I take with this is the transparency, as none of this was made clear to me during the whole interview process. A 3 stage process I might add. Through Further research I have found that there is a term for companies like this. "Devil Corps" are how they are referred to for their unethical practices and Pyramid Scheme style. While I am not looking for monetary compensation as I am aware that this is the contract I signed (regardless of my knowing) and I am aware that contracts are binding and when signed you are assumed to have read through them and understand what you are signing into. I am looking for this company and Matts numerous other shells to be shut down as the only person standing to gain anything from these types of companies are the people at the top. I basically worked 2 weeks 80+ hours for free. I can't imagine how the co-workers I've met that have been there for months are making a living being sold smoke and promise of "promotion" in a business that is focused on pedaling as much product as possible for the little money they shell out. This company is a scam to its employees who buy into the idea of making 6 figures in a years time, starting from nothing and being indoctrinated into a faux business.
