This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
They claimed that they were Amazon Customer Support with a charge of $1,099 for an Apple iPhone. Here is the transcription from the message: “The payment of $1099 for the recent order of Apple iPhone 17 Pro on your account If you do not authorize this payment, please press one to speak to our customer support representative…” I then called Amazon (the real Amazon customer support), and they said this is a scam. I called the number back of the party that called me and questioned them and they got horribly belligerent and cussing at me and saying awful things to me, saying that I shouldn’t be asking questions about them. I was called a *****, etc., and can not even repeat the awful things that they said.
