This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I googled the phone number for Vexus for technical support. I spoke to someone (Indian accent) stating they can look up my information by my name and address. Once I gave him my info, he said he will mail the equipment needed to upgrade my current internet. He then asked for my email address and said my new equipment will come in the mail and amount owed each month with my upgraded equipment will be $80.00 a month. I agreed and hung up. Since then, I have received the equipment, I have not hooked this up and do not plan to. I have received an email from " Spectrum" with an $80.00 balance owed and also a bill in the mail $80.00 balance owed. The address it says to send the payment to PO Box 94188 Palatine IL 60094. Although I thought I called Vexus, this imposter is posing as Spectrum. I have attached front and back of the statement sent to me.
