This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Phishing email impersonating PayPal stating "Your Merchant has reactivated the following recurring payment. Please contact your merchant with questions." Product/service listed is an “iPhone 17 Pro Max 512 GB." Message from merchange states: "A transaction of ????????.???? USD was detected.If this wasn’t you, please call (??????) ??????-???????? to stop the payment." The email lists “Laity Alive & Serving” as the payee, and inconsistent amounts ($1499.00 USD and ¥4999.00 JPY). It also includes a “Customer service URL” (http://www.ginnybrant.com) and “Customer service email” ([email protected]). The email was sent to "denver vokas, [email protected]" and my email was bcc'd. My paypal account did not list a recurring payment. I did not take any action with this email.
