My boyfriend and I live at an apartment complex that requires a parking pass. He (my bf) had his pass in his windshield & it slid down, but not too far from where you wouldn’t be able to see it. He left for work at 5am only to discover that his car had been towed. We drove over to Affordable Towing & Recovery of Norfolk and waited almost 30 minutes for someone to show up so he can get his car. Someone eventually showed up, ended up taking a picture of his car windshield to show that his pass was in fact there, & told us that we had to wait for his boss to approve of him picking up the car. My boyfriend was told by the employee that they could give him a 50% off discount for their mistake. We left and before we came back my boyfriend called the company again, only to be told that he needed to pay full price because the man on the phone didn’t believe that his parking pass was showing enough. We read through the reviews of this company online and found that multiple people have had the same issue with this place. They tow cars that have parking passes or stickers & instead of taking full accountability, they still charge you “half price” for THEIR mistake. I believe this company is a scam and they are fully aware of what they’re doing. To charge people $200+ for a mistake YOU made is unfathomable. This company has been taken to court and had 12 complaints to the Better Business Bureau within 3 years and only 5 have been resolved and is not even accredited by the BBB.
