This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I saw an ad on Facebook that indicated Tractor Supply Company was offering a Gorilla Garden Wagon to seniors only for $9.95, advertised as a $79.99 value, promoting "seniors who have supported TSC" (something to that effect). Ad stated to just answer a couple questions for eligibility. I felt ok with this as it was "Tractor Supply Co", blindly believing of course, went forward to provide my Visa debit card info. Later, I received a text from my bank, SECU, informing me of unusual activity. The next day, the bank called to inform me this was most likely a scam.. My bank account had been debited $79.99; I closed out my debit card at that time. I will note also, I received no garden wagon. This took place September 2, 2025.
