Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

We received an email from Frank Robinson, requesting to purchase 7 of our products, which would total to $7,000 or more. They asked to pay invoice or quickbooks but this is not an option for us. They requested bank information to wire. Here is the message that was sent to us. After this email, I searched the company name and found that it would most likely be a scam so we canceled the order before it was placed. "As such, please proceed with generating the invoice for the 7 units at your earliest convenience. Our client prefers payment via ACH/Wire transfer. Alternatively, if there's an option for a QuickBooks invoice, that would be preferable. We'd appreciate it if you could share the necessary details to facilitate payment through the preferred method. Additionally, for tax purposes, we also require a copy of your W9. Could you please provide us with one? Thank you, and have a wonderful day."
