The following website qrcodecreator.com promises free QR-codes for its users, however there is an extremely fine-print disclaimer at a difficult-to-navigate to page that the codes are only active for 7 days before being deactivated, requiring you to purchase a plan. I setup a QR code with their service, thinking it was free. Then, I received a notification on September 20th and September 21st that my code would be expiring. I followed the link to sign up for a plan and was presented with several options. All the options listed prices per month, but there is off-color print (that is hard to see) saying that the plan is billed annually. So, I signed up expecting to pay monthly (I only needed the service for one month) but was billed annually. I only realized annual billing after submitting my payment details for confirmation. I contacted them but they said their terms prevent me getting a refund. I did not want to pay for a QR code, and was expecting a free one, and they delivered it to me, but deliberately obfuscated that it was a free trial, as well as the full cost of the plan. This website is using dark design and other strategies to trick its visitors into spending more money than they would otherwise. Buyers should be aware of this and beware of this website and their service. Especially since the kind of QR codes most people need (static QR codes) are free! I didn't even know there was a difference. This behavior of this business should be disincentivized.
