Responded to a job posting on LinkedIn for a data entry role. Jessica Reyes - HR Assistant responded asking for a skills test. Immediately received offer, but would have to buy software with a check they would send - which raised red flags. After review and research, it appears the company is defunct and the “C.O.O.” that signed the offer letter is either a made up person or they’re using someone else’s name. The company website appears to be legitimate, but no legitimate employer would send a check to buy software.
