On September 15, 2025 I received a mens suit that was order early the same month. The suit came in a very small box and was rolled up halfhazardly. This was the first clue that the quality was not of the Canadian standard. The suit was wrinkled beyond being able to iron out; the fabric quality was far inferior to all other suits that we own; and there was a strong chemical smell on the garment. Since we purchase approximately 10 suits per year in our household, we are very familiar with the expected quality for the price paid to French Crown. The quality was similar to a Temu version of a mens suit. The instructions on the French Crown website is to contact the company at [email protected] to arrange for a return. I did send several emails. Each was a "scam like" form response asking for the same information that was previously supplied. After several days of this, I had the suit shipped back to their return facility in Ottawa, ON (closest return depot to my location). I subsequently received an email offering a credit only. Since the issue with the purchase was quality, I have no intention of using a credit and would expect a refund to the method of purchase since this is the industry standard for Canadian companies. After receiving the return at their depot, I received an email saying that I needed to provide advance notice of the return. I then provided French Crown with the screenshots showing where I did contact them several times prior to sending the return. The same runaround that I experienced when trying to arrange the return continued (asking for previously supplied information and sending form replies). Similarly, the same runaround is happening now that the merchandise was sent back to them. They are definitely a scammer business. I shop almost exclusively online, this type of runaround is well below the industry standard and needs investigation by the BBB so that other Canadians are not subjected to their unsavory practices.
