I ordered five pieces of clothing, intrigued by the stories posted on-line about a renowned Boston boutique, Ella & Rose Boston, which was “closing its doors and having a final sale”. The first warning sign was the length of time for delivery – several weeks. When delivered, the clothes (three sweaters, a blouse and a full length dress) were crushed into a plastic wrapping about the size of a football and delivered to my mail box. Far from boutique quality, the items were made very poorly with 100% polyester on the care tags, and tellingly, no designer labels whatsoever. Attempts to return the items proved futile. There is no customer service number, and no assistance via the web site or any sort of customer portal. I was eventually engaged in email exchanges with the firm, who offered small percentages refund AND allowing us to keep the clothes, where we insisted only a full refund would be acceptable. In the course of these discussions it was determined that the seller was a warehouse in China, with no physical presence in the United States whatsoever. I was never able to get to a point where the company would allow a return with their shipping label or any sort of return authorization number. In the course of researching this company and this scam, it is clear that a similar names is recycled for the same scam: “Emma & Rose Boston” is documented to be a scan on Facebook. “Ella & Harper” is another site that follows the same modus operandi with supposed Boston store front, with a mirror image web site of “Ella & Rose” we fell victim too. closing and offering deep discounts. “Ellarosemode” is documented scam using a UK URL. Clearly there are multiple complaints lodged with the BBB for “Ella & Rose”. This company is a 100% scam.
