I applied to a job posting on ZipRecruiter for a "Virtual Administrative Assistant" position at Ambiance Healthcare. It's important to note that this job posting claimed to pay almost double the typical market salary for this type of position. I received an email shortly after stating I would be interviewed via ZulipChat (an online chatting platform), which I found odd, but I followed through anyway, thinking it would just be a preliminary screening. A "Francis Houston" led the interview and gathered lots of personal information on me throughout its duration. They "offered me the job" and sent me an I-9, W-4, offer letter, and direct deposit authorization form. I expressed to them that I would like a phone or Zoom call with someone before submitting these details. When they declined, I knew something was up. I informed them that I knew this was a scam, and the individual blew up in anger. They began sending rapid messages, stating that they would be visiting my house, suing me for "defamation", and sending threats pertaining to my address (I gave them a fake address). Then, they began accusing ME of trying to steal from THEM. Funny, right? PLEASE avoid this SCAM!
