Possible Scam: Reid & Reed Associates I received a phone message instructing me to call back regarding a supposed legal matter and warning that further legal action would be taken if I did not respond. When I called the number provided (520-675-1288), I spoke with a male individual who already had access to my personal information, including my full name, Social Security number, and full address. He identified himself as Jason Harttman an attorney in California for Reid and Reed. He stated he was calling on behalf of ECS Processing to collect a debt from a medical center from 2013. He stated I was being sued for $3995.66 in Knox County Court and that the debt had been purchased by ECS processing. He stated an out of court settlement was sent to me in June 2025 and since I had not responded within the 30 days that I had 24-48 hours to either pay the amount due or receive a summons for court. He then if I paid the amount of at least $1995.66 within 24 hours, I would be free of any debt. I questioned him regarding the age of the debt and he stated he couldn't believe I didn't know about the debt and I had been avoiding paying my medical expenses. I immediately started searching online for him under the State Bar of California with no results. I then searched for the name of the law firm, the street address, etc. with no results for the firm and no valid business was not listed at the address. This appears to be a fraudulent debt collection scam attempting to intimidate consumers into paying on a time-barred (2013) or nonexistent debt. I will confirm with the State Bar tomorrow to ensure there is not an attorney listed by his name. He also gave me 888-488-7506 ext. 612 for calling him back to pay the debt within 24 hours.
