Received a random text asking "how was your day?" to which I responded "busy, wassup." Then I was solicited with the following opportunity: "oh, sorry to disturb you. I am a professional mentor with The Software House. My name is Luna Murphy. I received your contact from HR, who mentioned that you're looking for opportunities. I'd like to share an exciting business with you, where commission income can be collected the same day. It offers working hours and great revenue potential. Would you like me to share more details?" At this point, I knew it was an illegitimate scam and followed up with inappropriate dialogue. This might be related to another string of texts I received a couple hours prior from phone number (215) 607-1718. "It's Martha........ Are you available for a full time or Part time work.........." and I responded "sure, what type of work?" and they texted "Before we continue with the next steps, please confirm: are you 25+ and currently a U.S. resident with a valid Social Security Number? A. Yes B. No", "okay?", "Would it alright if we send you the available roles and their wages. You can review them at your free time okay?", "Can I proceed ahead?" All the typos and lack of details led me to believe this is a scam, so I responded "yes to all." The last text from them said "Great! You will be contacted through Whats-app or SMS with full information-please reply within 24 hours to not miss out. Thank you, have a nice day!"
