This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I was contacted through text message about a job in the area that I was searching for a job so I thought it was legitimate. I was then directed to signal to speak with Kalin Watson through text interview and brief summary of the company. Once that was complete, questions were asked to see if I was a good fit. Then the person said they were going talk to the company manager about the interview. They got with me about 15 minutes later and said congratulations. They said they would be emailing paperwork. The next day the paperwork was in and I was asking probing questions and everything seemed legit, so I filled out the info and sent it back. It was an offer letter, W4, and Background check. Then I was asked to send a professional photo. After that I was told I would be contacted to get tracking number for start up check for equipment. That prompted me to go and google the name and then I found this BBB complaint. So I am scared that they will try to steal my identity with all my info
