Do not hire Richard Lawarence Buonocore, aka Richard L. Buonocore Jr. His current business is: Echelon Restoration and Construction LLC out of Winder, GA. Mr. Buonocore has perpetrated Home Repair Fraud/Contractor Fraud for decades. Mr. Buonocore is NOT a licensed contractor, nor has ever been in the state of Georgia. He is unlawfully performing work that requires it. Subcontractors he hired were also unlicensed and underqualified. Once he gets caught, the business name changes. Other business names he has used include: Starr Homes and Construction, Freedom Rolls, Good Heart Diversified, Bonacori Custom Homes LLC and Buonocore-ERCEG LLC. Echelon Restoration and Construction LLC was served an administrative dissolution by Gov. Brian Kemp on June 18th, 2025. I lost 28,000 from theft of service, theft by deception, defective work and I believe to be in the practice of conversion of payment. Our project should have taken a few weeks, instead was dragged out over 3 months. He would show up to work late, or not at all. Numerous excuses for not completing the project in timely manner were exhaustive and unacceptable. His work was not to code, industry standard, unsafe and unstable. We paid for materials not delivered and services not completed or even started. He would ask for money urgently, at inappropriate times and not in compliance with our contractual aggrement. He only accepts cash, (or via Zelle, Venmo or Cashapp). He would ask for money using different payment methods. eg:) One week he needs Zelle, one week he needs Venmo. When confronted with his defective work, he would explain it away: “We are not done”. Public records show mugshots, lawsuits and negative reviews for his chronic patterns of fraudulent business practices. He has been arrested and sued in many counties in Georgia including Barrow, Jackson, Oconee, Cobb, Gwinnett. We were denied our request for a partial refund to repair his work to code. Many other victims have FIFA/Materialman liens on Mr. Buonocore and his associates. I am under the impression that he has no ownership or assets, perhaps by design. Therefore, taking legal action would not be advantageous. Other victims have been able to win judgments against Mr. Buonocore, but are unable to collect. I do not want this to happen to more hard working families in Georgia. Please be aware.
