This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I have received almost 1 call a day from different phone numbers telling me that I have been approved for a personal loan of $63,000. I have not applied for any such loan. The voicemails left are clearly a recording, however are highly predatory and made to sound like real person calling on the phone. I have called the number back and spoke with different people, informing them that I am registered on the do not call list and do not wish to be called again or I will be reporting them. I have received additional calls since then. Today I decided to attempt to connect again and gain more information so I can report the company. After several reps hung up on me due to the notes on my file that I do not wish to speak with anyone, I was connected with someone that identified themselves as Nova. She claimed that mail had been sent with my offer and provided me with the name of the company: Nationwide Lending Services in Irvine, CA. When I asked how my information was gathered, she confronted me, saying I was clearing trying to waste her time as there are notes about no longer contacting me and then hung up on me. Phone numbers I have been prompted to call in the voicemail include: 855-909-0925 and 866-959-0988 I do have saved voicemails but the format can not be uploaded here.
