Applied for virtual assistant on job board. Got an email stating I was hired: I'm more than happy to inform you that your position has been confirmed. This is a remote, part-time position offering a salary of $850 per week. Please note the following important details: • Your commitment and prompt attention to emails are essential, as you will soon receive your first set of tasks along with payment for errands and your initial salary. • You will be expected to check your email 2–3 times daily and be consistently responsive and reliable in executing assignments. To proceed, kindly respond to the following questionnaire with detailed and thoughtful answers, as each question is important to the onboarding process: 1. Current Employment Status & Availability Are you currently employed? Will you be able to dedicate 2–3 hours daily to this role? Also, please indicate your time zone and the time(s) of day you are generally available (e.g., Morning, Lunch, After Work). 2. Understanding of Privacy & Code of Conduct In your own words, please provide a comprehensive explanation of your understanding of privacy and professional code of conduct in the workplace. 3. Banking Information Confirmation Do you have an active checking account (for payroll and reimbursement purposes)? Please answer Yes or No only. (Note: Do not share your account details.) You applied through at : https://malonesolutions.org/personal-assistant/ We look forward to your prompt response so we may continue with the next steps. Sincerely, Mr. Michael Pamil Fine Art!!! From there I got a text message stating the following: Good morning, I hope you had a restful night. I’ve just sent you an email with your first assignment. Please confirm receipt of the email and also respond to my text message. Thank you. An envelope showed up at my doorstep (address was on resume). Shortly after I received another text: I’ve confirmed the payment has been delivered to your mailbox/front door. Please deposit it and send me a confirmation once it’s done. Thanks! Inside the envelope was a check from a flooring company in Texas for $3985. Return address on envelope was Hunter, Tennessee, but when I looked up the tracking, it was mailed from a location in Mississippi. I contacted the flooring company and this has been an ongoing issue.
