This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

It was from a "Merchants Services" phone number (480-360-1605) and used a merchantservices .com email address. Called trying to confirm we received a credit last month for card fees that were billed at the wrong rate. They asked if I knew how to view my statement, when I said no, they provided me the steps to do so over the phone. Then they provided me with a PCI # as a case number (pci0918) and they wanted me to email them a statement while they waited on the phone with me. This was very strange to me so I just hung up. Almost immediately I received 3 back to back calls from a 520-314-4730 but no voice message was left giving me further directions or information about how to reconnect with them. This is not the first time they have called. I received the exact same type of solicitation from the same company last year and I told them I would email them the statement but never did because I had a feeling that it might be a scam,
