Description

On August 4th, 2025 my elderly mother was browsing Facebook and clicked on an ad she believed for for Talbots clothing company. She ordered many items and put it under her husband's, my father's name and email. She even showed me her phone to ask my opinion on one of the items she was going to order. When I saw the phone, I definitely saw Talbot's logo and I saw her order her items minutes later. She never received her package so she told me to do something about it. When they showed me the email confirmation, the company wasn't Talbots. It was for a company called Antetoon. And the email showed that the package came from China, took a month to arrive in the U.S. and was supposedly delivered. The company didn't have any real customer service to contact them for lost packages but they had a help button on the email. I messaged them through my father's email explaining that we never received the package. I asked if it can't be located that we receive a refund. On September 5th, we received an email response that seemed prewritten and out of touch from our complaint. It talked about emotional distress and blamed packages being for signed but not delivered (we received no word that any signature would be needed and the post office didn't leave any notice that they had packages that no one was home to sign for. We are also home often because we all have health issues. It's unlikely we would have missed the delivery if there were one). The letter went into detail about how they were going to put together a big logistics team to discover the package location and how it will take days to do anything about it and they might not contact us but we can keep contacting them. There was no name of any sales representative and no follow up questions in the email. I'm convinced they just used a bot to send out that generic, over the top email. It wasn't until this email that I scratched my Mom's story deeper and found out that she found the fake Talbot website by clicking an ad on Facebook. Before my parents asked me for help, my Dad tried to reach them through one of the shipping confirmation emails they sent and instead clicked an ad for JustAnswers.com. He mistakenly believed this was part of Talbots and gave them his personal information. He showed me the ad in his email and it was made to deceptively look like part of the email to someone who wouldn't know better. Since the company clearly plans to take my parent's money and personal information with no scruples, I'm reporting them to you.
