This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I was served a targeted ad on Instagram on August 4, 2025 that appeared to be from Portland Leather, a company that I follow and have been frequently trying to purchase from over the last couple of months but refrained from because their prices were expensive. The ad I was served showed up to me as a flash sale, which I was then taken to a website that looked exactly like Portland Leathers. I made a purchase, then realized that the site was not legitimate because my confirmation number came from the site "Bestella", which I then realized was the site I had ordered from and not Portland Leather. I then locked my credit card through my bank and tried to cancel the order, but the "business" said that they could not cancel the order because it had already been processed. The "business" then said that if I wanted my money back I could return the items once I receive them. It is now Sept. 3rd, and according to the tracking number I was given the item was supposedly delivered, however I did not receive anything. Uploaded is how the site displayed on the day I ordered from it.
