Description

I was contacted by a puppy breeder through Facebook who claimed to use a shipping company called Global Express Cargo Ltd to deliver the puppy. After agreeing to proceed with the purchase, I was directed to work with this shipping company to arrange the delivery. However, several red flags began to emerge. The company only accepted payment through Apple gift cards, Chime, or Zelle—none of which offer buyer protection. When I requested a formal invoice outlining the service terms, including the refundable delivery fee, they were unable to provide one. They also refused to accept more secure payment methods such as credit card, PayPal, or Venmo, which typically offer fraud protection. When I raised concerns and asked for more transparency about this being suspicious activity and potentials scammers, the shipping company stopped responding entirely. The breeder, however, continued to communicate with me but began insisting I send additional funds via Apple gift cards. Apple Pay was flagging the payment attempts as potential scams and therefore would not authorize the transaction—yet another concerning red flag. Despite my repeated requests for legitimate payment options and documentation, neither the breeder nor the shipping company would cooperate in a way that aligned with fair or reputable business practices. I now believe this was a coordinated scam involving both parties.
