I called xfinity this evening regarding an outage of my services. Immediately after hanging up, i received a call from 8889346489 from someone claiming to be from xfinity. They said they were returning my callback request. Later this evening I needed to reach back out to xfinity for status of my outage. I dialed the 888 number. The prompts all sounded legit. However, the gentleman told me he needed to see my modem. Therefore, he sent me a link to a live camera. I hindsight, the link was to a hotmail account. He looked at my modem and then wanted to see my laptop and directed me into wifi settings. He looked at this and then told me he was consulting with his admin and they agreed to do something to my modem and he guaranteed my internet would be restored in 4 hours. He said because my situation was sensitive, his admin decided to do this for me.
