Description
Description of Incident Scam emails: [email protected] and : [email protected] I was recently contacted with what appeared to be a job interview offer from a company using the name “Nutri-Vet” (a legitimate pet supplement company that was based in Boise, Idaho), but office is now closed. The offer appeared professional, but it was ultimately a fraudulent employment scam. When I attempted to verify the legitimacy directly with Nutri-Vet’s official contact information, it became clear that the company had no such opening and that their name was being misused by scammers. The process began when I was approached about an administrative support role, claiming they found me on the Indeed job platform. The individuals claiming to represent Nutri-Vet wanted to set-up and interview on team’s platform, that looked official. Red flags included: After initial communications through Microsoft Teams, I researched the company and looked on LinkedIn for company and employee verification. I could not find any information for either of individuals that contacted me. they wanted to interview me by audio only, personal email address This fraudulent activity not only wasted time but also put me at risk of identity theft. I am reporting this to the BBB to warn other job seekers, so they can avoid falling victim to similar scams. I also recommend Nutri-Vet be notified that their brand name is being used without authorization in an attempt to deceive people. Desired Outcome: I would like the BBB to flag this as a scam, alert consumers/job seekers, and notify the legitimate Nutri-Vet company. I also hope steps can be taken to prevent these scammers from continuing to use the company’s name.
