Description

The website looks incredibly legitimate, whomever is running the same put a lot of time and effort into the operation. I applied, received in invitation to interview via Teams, which should have been the first red flag but there was nothing else alarming or causing concern. They took forever to respond on Teams so initially I gave up. Then days later I received a legit looking corporate email apologizing for the delayed interview process and that the company is using an AI guided interview bot to complete the process. Legitimate questions are asked that are specific to the job and seem reasonable. Once the interview was completed, it was "reviewed", and then within an hour or so an offer letter is sent via email. The offer letter sends you to a very legitimate looking portal, and you can accept the offer, which after doing so it then moves to an onboarding process. This is where things go downhill for someone who thinks it is a legit offer - it asks you to enter images of your SSN card and DL for the background check, which in theory makes sense, but usually goes through an formal third party company. I didn't catch this red flag, but everything looked so legit. After I finished giving them my entire life, I thought to google more about the role to see if other people had experience with the job etc. and that is when different results came back about the job postings being scams. The company will tell you to pay to complete a certification for the training, and apparently you will be asked to pay for shipping expenses for equipment, which hasn't happened to me yet. Do not apply. Do not give them your sensitive, personal information. I now have to go through the process of freezing my credit reports and ensuring my information is locked down.
