Received email in response to job listing on LinkedIn or Indeed for Remote Data Entry posistion. I have been scammed a couple years ago and before replying to information detailed in the email, I did some research and confirmed this is a scam communication. Wanted to share my incident to help others applying for a remote job. I first looked up the entity listed in the email to determine legit company. It is, but location is UK. That was 1st clue. Second clue was to method of contact to setup an interview. I have interviewed for Remote positions before and the recruiter will actually reach out, request a good time for phone call, and then setup a video call after phone communication to discuss the position and company. Once recruiter has performed video meeting, the recruiter presents applicant resume and the details of video call with applicant is shared with the entity hiring. If the entity hiring wants to persue the applicant further, the recruiter sets up a time for applicant and entity to video interview. For all those applicants applying for remote positions, those are the steps to remember so you are not victim of empolyment scam.
