This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I saw a Wayfair ad on facebook for dressers on sale. I clicked the link and it looked like Wayfair. I ordered a dresser. And I had a gut feeling this was too good to be true. But the website looked very legit! I got a confirmation email and it all looked pretty legit. It said I would be notified a few days later when it is shipped. When I went back to check tracking I realized the contact email was :[email protected]. I reached out to Wayfair and they verified it was unfortunately a scam!
