I purchased an Envy printer from Apple.com to use with my MacBook Air M2. I couldn’t connect at first so I called Hewlett Packers helpline to connect the printer. I got transferred to other phone numbers and was told I had worms and malware so they talked me into giving them access to my laptop. Eventually they talked me into buying four lifetime subscription to Malware yes Premium Security; Advanced Identity Secure Protection, Dark Web Secure Protection and Software Support & Warranty plus my name would be removed from the dark web. I got the free version of Malwarebytes or only a one year plan because I noticed it was going to require a renewal in a few months. I think my name was removed from the dark web but the other three programs weren’t applied unless that was the firewall they installed. I kept getting iPhone mirroring messages on my laptop and found it annoying so when I turned off iPhone mirroring I got a call from Zoe from 1-833-588-0089. I called back and it seemed unsafe but I didn’t know what to do so I talked to her and even gave her access to my laptop again because they made it seem like they were protecting my data for a lifetime. She wanted another $1,000.00 to $4,000.00 to install another program because the other security programs or firewall were hacked. She was very persistent but I would not give her more money. I restarted my laptop to factory settings and trade my laptop in at Best Buy Rosedale for $460 gift card store credit. I feel like I scammed and went to report this so other people might not get scammed.
