Lawrence and Claresse seemed knowledgeable and genuine after speaking on the phone for 3 months for the duo to comple electrical and plumbing. The two even visited the site with me and worked out details of the job. I received an estimate that we amended, signed a contract, sent them a deposit then they wrote a note saying they will not begin the work because an unknown county inspector threatened them with arrest. I am sub-contracting the house myself so there being licensed is not an issue, I clarified that with the county inspectors myself. So basically, they will not return my deposit, no work was started. Their justification for keeping the $1500 was the travel to the site, exchanging emails and providing recommended product for the job. $1500 worth of time, I think not. The excuse of the unmentioned county inspector who was goign to have them arrested was suspicious, but they intended to scam me from the get-go. Providing a fake address and fraudlent referral contact information.
