Description
I had applied for a medical writer position via LinkedIn to this company called "Precision Medicine Group". Few days later, I receive this email from a person called Charles Sutton, who identifies himself as the Recruitment Manager. The following was the first email: "Dear ---, Thank you for applying to the Medical Writer position at Precision Medicine Group via LinkedIn. We were impressed with your background and would like to invite you to interview. We have scheduled your interview for tomorrow at 10:00 AM EST. The interview will be conducted via Teams, and further details will be shared upon confirmation. Please reply to this email to confirm your availability or suggest an alternative time if needed. Best regards, Charles Sutton, Recruitment Manager. Precision Medicine Group." this email was sent to me less than 4hours before the supposedly scheduled interview. I said no, because I did not have time that day! I wrote back saying here are a few dates and times that I could be available for the interview, to that there was no reply! I wrote back a week later, following up if they are still interested in interviewing me. no reply for a day --- but received a similar email asking for an interview on the very same day!! This 2nd time I thought to say alright, let's do it. While waiting to get a zoom link or any kind of communication about how this interview was going to happen, I googled this person "Charles Sutton" and voila! The first few searches are scam, phishing, scam, good lord!!! 7 minutes past 10 am I get an exact email similar to what another person had reported providing me a link to get on teams meeting and attend the interview. Thank goodness, I am aware now and did not get on that link for the fake interview and waste my time and personal information. I have reported the email id as phishing to gmail. Please stay away from such fraudulent scammers trying to offer fake interviews and job offers. Shame on you guys! REPORTING here this business, PRECISION MEDICINE GROUP as scam. Please see below the email thread: "Hello Charles, Thank you for writing. I am not available tomorrow, Jul 30th for the interview, it is indeed quite short notice. Here are my alternate suggestion times for next week: Aug 5th or 6th at 10am EST. Please let me know if this works for you or I can try find other options. Thank you." No reply from the person. "Hello Charles, Hope all is well. I am following up on interview dates that we are looking at scheduling. Is there a preferred date this week or the next? Thank you!" Reply this time: "Are you available today at 10:00AM EST?" 2 back-to-back emails saying the same thing My reply: "Yes, I am available." No reply until 10 am! My reply: "Is there a zoom link or would it be a phone call?" This time at 10:07 am I get a reply: "Please use the link below to join your interview: ?? https://teams.live.com/l/invite/FDAc9xbE7GPbmSdWgM Leave a message to start. If you have any problem connecting let me know. If you have any problem connecting let me know." In the meantime, I had realized this is extremely suspicious, and I decided NOT to go for this. I wrote them back: "You are late by 7 minutes, this is extremely unprofessional for the 2nd time. First, you send me an interview notification a few hours before the supposedly scheduled interview where you provide zero choice to the interviewee! I am not going to click on this link, you had bad luck trying to phish me. I am going to report you, basically all your details to BBB and google. Hope no one falls victim to your scamming." I have reported this email id: "[email protected]" Please ignore such scams! and Hope they cease to exist.
