Description

I am currently seeking employment and actively applying for roles through platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor. During this process, I was approached by individuals identifying themselves as Michael Cramer and Michael Maclean regarding a remote shipping inspector position with an organization called Cargo Directs LLC. According to the job description, I was expected to receive packages at my home, inspect their contents, print and apply supplied shipping labels, and then ship the items out. I was informed that upon onboarding, I would receive an initial payment of $3,200 on August 25, 2025, followed by $800 weekly. To date, I have only received one package, which contained a single button. I informed both Michael Cramer and Michael Maclean that the envelope arrived damaged and that I needed to purchase additional shipping materials via Amazon to continue. However, after mentioning this job to a friend, we conducted further research and discovered multiple complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and online forums indicating this company may be involved in fraudulent activity. Following this discovery, I attempted to contact the individuals again but found that my access to the messaging control panel had been revoked. I also sent email communications, one of which—addressed to Michael Maclean—was returned as undeliverable. I have since reported this incident to the FBI, as it appears to be a clear case of employment fraud. I am formally requesting that I be compensated according to the terms outlined during the hiring process. Additionally, I request immediate written assurance that any personal information I provided will not be used for unlawful purposes.
