Husband misdialed a phone call thinking he was calling our medical insurance company and getting info on Medicare. A man answered with an Indian accent (India) and my husband began asking question about Medicare. The man stated did you know you qualify for a medical alert system for emergencies at no cost? He continued to manipulate the conversation and evade my husband's questions regarding Medicare. My husband relented and gave him our address, our contact info and a credit card to begin the Medical alert bracelets but would be charged monthly for the service. To cancel this service at any time he would have to call 1.800.373.3411. After he gave this info to my husband my husband tried to ask him more questions but in mid-sentence the man on the other line hung up on him! We immediately tried to call the 1.800.373.3411 to cancel but it was a bogus #! We also alerted our bank as well. We did receive a package in the mail over a week later but refused the packed (didn't open it) and mailed it back. It came from a fake address in Philadelphia, PA. They resent the same package again, and we refused it again. This time it came from Pocatello, ID. This morning, I received a Medical Alert Emergency text on my phone with my husband's name on it! There was a link but I did not recognize the 1+ 208 number and blocked it and deleted it. Within the link gibberish was LifeBeam.Com and Live Free (medical alert system). Definitely a deceptive scam preying on seniors!
