Orthopaedic medical equipment was sent to her by Star Medical Equipment, that was not requested by her or her primary physician. Somehow they had her physician's name and her medicare number. Medicare was called immediately about the scam, but Medicare proceeded to process the claim by Star Medical Equipment, 4 days later, giving them over $4,300 on her account. It was a crazy amount of equipment: 2 knee braces, hip brace and 2 compression sleeves. When I looked up address, the company also goes by the name of AVA Medical Supply/DME Supplier. Google reviews from over 31 people, said they had received medical equipment that was not ordered where claims had been sent to Medicare. The following month, she received 2 wrist braces from Mass Medical Suppy in Dallas, Tx.
