We appreciate your interest in Guidehouse Inc and are excited about the opportunity to speak with you about your experience. We look forward to your participation in the interview process. Have a nice weekend, Talk to you on Monday. Best regards, Earl Smith Talent Acquisition Team Guidehouse Inc" He sent me an attachment in Webex with 16 questions that I filled out - I had 3 hours to complete it and sent it back through Webex. The next morning, I got a very lucrative offer via email: $1000 Training Bonus, funds to purchase my home office, a $2500 sign-on bonus, and a very lucrative salary. Then they sent me a UPS tracking number with what is supposed to be my offer letter & 2 initial checks. They said I'd be signing via DocuSign, but instead sent me a DropBox Sign employment offer. Guidehouse's logo and everything is on there, but the information is super general. "Earl" won't provide his LinkedIn profile and said, "I appreciate your questions regarding the interview process, contract duration, and team interactions. The decision to conduct the interview process in a text-based format stems from our aim to facilitate a more flexible and accessible experience for all candidates. This approach allows us to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to present their qualifications without the constraints of scheduling conflicts. Regarding your opportunity to meet with team members, we plan to arrange introductions during the upcoming stages of your onboarding process. You will have the chance to engage with both your future colleagues and management, providing you a better understanding of our work culture and team dynamics." All of this was too good to be true, but I hadn't given them any sensitive information, so I didn't know what the purpose of this scam was. Then I dug in further, found this report on BBB, and some online education on current scams. My guess is that they'll want what I don't use in my Home Office funds to be sent back after I've made all the purchases, and then bounce the check. Then something will happen and they'll want me to return my Training Sign-On, and bounce that too. Not cool. I sent my offer letter to [email protected] for validation and to inform them. Yikes.
