In early 2025, I was introduced to an online investment platform called “Atrend Capital,” which claimed to provide access to U.S. stock trading. The platform appeared legitimate, with a professional interface and what seemed to be real-time data. I was convinced by their representatives, who communicated regularly and built trust, to invest in what they claimed were high-yield opportunities. Between February and May 2025, I transferred approximately $80,000 via wire transfer and Zelle to several individuals and business accounts at their instruction. These included accounts under names like Xiaoyu Pan and Vishal Vaishnani, among others. Over time, the platform showed that my investment had “grown” to more than $360,000 in unrealized profit. However, when I tried to withdraw my money, they began demanding repeated “taxes,” “transaction fees,” and “clearance payments.” I was misled into sending an additional $4,500 to supposedly unlock the funds, but each time I paid, new excuses emerged and no money was ever returned. I later discovered this was a well-organized investment scam. I have already filed complaints with the FBI (IC3), the SEC, CFPB, and my banks (Chase and Bank of America), but the response so far has been limited. I am now asking BBB for help in pushing forward this case and encouraging relevant institutions and law enforcement to act, and to hold accountable any associated financial entities that processed these fraudulent transactions.
